Coming from a serene, picturesque village nestled within the gentle hills of Trinidad’s Central Range, Sanjiv is a self-taught photographer who loves capturing the beauty found in simple moments. After obtaining a master’s degree in Geoscience from Imperial College London on full scholarship, his job as a Geologist in Trinidad frequently involved long treks to remote, scenic locations throughout the island. These rural escapades fuelled his fascination with nature, deepened his respect for the environment, and ignited his passion for nature and landscape photography. Through his lens, he hopes to highlight the stunning beauty Trinidad and Tobago has to offer and he often finds himself trekking through forests in search of hidden waterfalls, chasing sunrises along remote coastlines, and getting up-close and personal with exotic birds and insects. Sanjiv was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the Trinidad and Tobago Photographic Society’s annual competition in 2015, and his photographs have been displayed at the Horizons Art Gallery in 2015 and 2017, and the National Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad and Tobago in 2018.
